For people who love the coast

Everyone has their own special reason to be drawn to the sea. It may be to recall
nostalgic memories of carefree childhood holidays or simply just a desire to escape
  urban city life.

Whatever it is, a coastal sanctuary - either as a main or second home - is apparently
becoming irresistible to an increasing number of us.

A recent survey revealed that in the last couple of years around 360,000 people
of working age have moved to be by the sea.

Such is the popularity for a coastal lifestyle that a new magazine, Coast,
has just launched. It focuses on the coastal lifestyle and includes seaside homes.

Coast's Editor  says: "Living by the sea is a huge trend, and the lifestyle is
increasingly attractive. I think there are those, like myself, who grew up by the sea
and yearn to return and others who are turning away from city life, particularly
   retired couples and young families.

Even those who just want weekend retreats seem to be forsaking the chocolate-box
country cottage and opting for designer apartments at new coastal developments
around or near harbours and  marinas."

Falling in love with a seaside holiday spot based on summer visits is fine but
check it out  for a longer period before you up-sticks and move there.

Ideally test your choice by hiring a weekend cottage, or better still rent a home
for a few  summer months before you buy to make sure you like the area and that
your dream stands up to the reality of living there....

many people also advise to try winter living by the sea...and why not?.....
just remember to  discount the really bad weather....
because.if its miserable outdoors ...

it's the same anywhere, inland or beachside,  and you would pursue indoors activities
no matter where you were... but just imagine.... walking on the beach in crisp winter
sunshine, breathing in the salty fresh air and admiring the fantastic sea views
