Damage to household items
Your property is a place in which you store all your beloved items, some of value, some of necessity: these items in which you trust to be kept safe within your property. However, although unlikely, incidents such as leaks from neighbouring properties can lead to these items being damaged possibly to a state in which you can no longer keep or use them.
Our agency (as well as all others) strive to ensure that there is no possibilities for leaks within your property, however in incidents where you live in an apartment, we may not be responsible for any flats above - so therefore cannot ensure that you are protected from any leaks coming from that property- even then accidents can happen.
We highly recommend that you report any signs of a leak to your neighbours in case they do not realise, allowing them a chance to talk to their agency and fix the issue before it escalates and damages your property. You can even report the issue directly to your neighbours agency; if you are aware of which one they are with. Damage and repairs are not only costly but can also cause stress and disruption to everyday life so by you ensuring that you report the early signs you will save everyone involved from anymore stress than their everyday life brings.
In the case in which your items become damaged from any leaks or property mishaps, you may believe that your landlords insurance will cover the damage, however this is not true! If you do not have contents insurance on all the items within your home, than any damage that takes place will have to be covered out of your own pocket! Therefore, we highly recommend you invest in contents insurance as if an incident was to occur, this insurance will cover the costs.
