Blocked sink/ toilet or wash basin?
Causes of blockages:
Debris such as hair, soap scum, food scraps, grease, coffee grounds, toilet paper and other foreign objects may build up in the pipes and clog sinks, toilets and wash basins. This is especially true when flushed down without proper disposal, which frequently results in obstructions in the drain line.
The key items in which clog the pipes within your bathroom would be hair, soap scum and toothpaste. The hair can easily get tangled and caught within the pipelines which is not only an issue within itself, but it will also catch other debris leading to a quicker blockage. Whereas the soap scum will cause there to be a sticky build up within the pipes that will trap dirt, this is also the case with toothpaste.
Kitchen related blockages usually occur due to items such as Grease and oil, food scraps and eggshells. The fat from cooking can solidify once it cools within your pipes, therefore creating blockages. Whereas the Food scraps and eggshells will accumulate within your drains.
Lastly, toilets are susceptible to blockages through the use of excess toilet paper causing clogs that are not easily flushable; non-flushable items entering the toilets pipelines then the next most common factor which leads to blockage, flushing anything other than toilet paper, like wipes sanitary products, or baby wipes can cause blockages.
